Stupid People alert!

A few days ago I went into the local Deli in my town and picked up a small bottled water, a protien bar and a newspaper. When the girl behind the counter rang it up she proudly annonced my purchases came to...." $83.67 cents....please.."
When I calmy chuckled that the prices must have either went WAY up or she rang it wrong she smiled weakly and replied " $83.67 cents please"
I again protested pointing out that I had 3 items..one being a fifty cent newspaper and she replied the scanner does not ring up wrong!
Turns out the "8" in front of the total was the DOLLAR sign LED read out...but my god ANYONE would know the total couldnt POSSIBLY be right!
I left wondering if she will one day work for the IRS and re evaluate my taxs!

oh yes, I have some really dumb students... The other day I was teaching this woman and she only creates fuss, I HATE her. Anyway, I was teaching her and said the word in English then in port, as a way of translating, it was a simple word in port like run. She asked me what that word (pronounced in port) meant! The she realised how dumb she was, but still got mad at me, saying I hadn't said it rightly, lol sure, blame the teacher and say she can't speak portuguese even!

The other day in my biology class someone was trying to argue the point that the Bilayer on a phospholipid is nonpolar and the long hydrocarbon tails are polar. When it clearly stated it was the EXACT opposite on the paper we had right in front of us. We went on for a half an hour bitching at eachother about it until I finally had our teacher tell us to shut up =D
