I just heard a local congresswoman say that she will NOT repeal the states law on the mandatory use of motorcycle helmets. Her reasoning was that, despite the fact that the motorcycle owner may have enough insurence to cover any perspective accident, If he or she were to be crippled and require disability it would be the tax payers who would bear the cost. To this I say...what about CIGARETTES??
More people become disabled, require medical costs paid for and suffer long term than any motorcycle accident has EVER caused. The reason the state wont repeal cigarettes is because they make a FORTUNE taxing each pack. Then they have the NERVE to say the helmet law is for the persons own good and some are too stupid to realize wearing one is important. Well I DO wear one but, much like cigarettes ( that I have NEVER used) It should be the persons right to choose. So bikers get on your helmets before you peel out to the local deli to buy the governments cancer causing sources of revenue or you will be ticketed for your "stupid" choice. What a joke
