PostSubject: Ouch.   Ouch. EmptyFri 2 Mar - 3:55

Okay, so I'm using Crest White Strips since too much red wine have dulled the color of my teeth a little bit. So far, they're working wonderfully, but I have some mean tooth sensitivity! I've used half a bottle of Orajel over the past three days.

Anyway, I just felt like complaining a little bit. Does anybody have similar complaints?

You know, basically completely irrelevant bitching. =P

TBH I've heard that whitening strips can be bad for your teeth in the sense that it makes them very sensitive and can weaken them by causing them to become pourous...I'd consult a dentist before using them too frequently. Peroxide ( one of the primary ingrediants) can be used as a rinse all by itself and help whiten teeth. Keeping those strips on or using that mouth peice to keep the product on your teeth for prolonged periods doesn't seem like a great idea

My dentist actually recommended them to me since I wanted to get them professionally whitened. He said that it is actually worse because it causes even worse tooth sensitivity. But I'm going to take your advice and go and see him to ask if it's still okay. The peroxide thing is a great idea, too. When I was younger, I used to keep my teeth white by brushing them with baking soda and peroxide, but it because a little bit of a hassle. I'll think about continuing that again. It didn't really whiten my teeth, but it kept them from becoming dull or yellow.

Thank you, Marc! :-)
