British youths feared

British adults are less likely than those in European countries to intervene to prevent teenagers committing anti-social behaviour, according to the Institute of Public Policy Research.

Nearly 1.7m people admitted they avoided going out after dark as a direct result of youths gathering. The report blamed changes in family, communities and the economy for the "increased risk in youth crime."


The trouble is, if the teenagers have heard this news, that we are scared of them, they will use it to their advantage and cause even more trouble for innocent people. What's more in this area even the police are afraid of them.

Damn.

The studdy should have added Canada to it as well

Well, tbh I think it's a major thing going on all over the world, because families' attitudes have changed and people need to spend more time away from their homes to be able to provide their bread and butter. On the other hand, parents are afraid of being too authoritaries and end up letting their children do as they will, thus children without due education will rejoice, because they don't know any limits. And at this age, I think most are beyond their parents reach, unfortunately =(.

well violence is getting pretty widespread...honestly all these type of hoods fear is GREATER violence. reasoning with potential attackers or muggers dont work. Its no accident that I can go into bad areas and not get set upon..its due to the potential attackers thinking I might ALSO be carrying a weapon or present a threat. until the police can actually instill FEAR in them..this stuff isnt going to end.
